Dear Friends & Neighbors,
Thank you for taking the time to read our first newsletter! The establishment of this communication is part of our ongoing and expanded effort to directly share more about the work we are supporting here in Kingston, particularly in Midtown. We would also love to hear from you – if you have questions, concerns, or ideas, please e-mail us at [email protected].
We have several exciting capital project updates to share. In this edition, we focus on three different projects in various states of development. The Broadway Bubble & Community Hub is now in its second year of operation and continues to expand its always free and diverse program offerings and community events. Be sure to check out the new ‘backyard’ and play area! The Greenkill House is nearly complete, with a few finishing touches coming up before our community open house. And, finally, we’re excited to share an update about our largest capital project, The Metro, and a recent YouthDesign effort we collaborated on with our friends at the YMCA Farm Project and the Boys and Girls Club to help shape the vision and design of the building.
Thank you again for your time and interest! We look forward to continuing to connect with each of you in all the ways we do in this beloved community.
On behalf of NoVo in Kingston,
Megan Weiss-Rowe
Director, NoVo in Kingston

The Metro Hosts Youth Design and Community Maker Events
The Metro building was alight with community activity in August, from spotlighting the innovative design ideas of local teenagers to in-depth conversations between area craftspeople.
Opening of the Greenkill House
NoVo in Kingston and the Boys and Girls Club of Ulster County are excited to announce the opening of the Greenkill House, a new resource for Midtown youth ages 16-24+.
New Backyard at the Broadway Bubble
Pave paradise and put up a parking lot is a lyric from a classic song “Big Yellow Taxi” by Joni Mitchell, but the opposite occurred at The Broadway Bubble this fall. A vacant asphalt space in the rear of the business was renovated to include a large fenced in green space, including trees, grass, and a stone patio area for the community to enjoy throughout the daytime.
