The Fabrication Center at The Metro

2 South Prospect Street, Midtown Kingston

The Metro Fabrication Center is a 15,000 sq. ft. workshop center currently under construction in the portion of The Metro building that faces Greenkill Avenue. Once complete, the Fabrication Center will offer community access to new technologies such as 3D printing, as well as shared workshop areas and traditional tools for woodwork, metal work, fibers, textiles, and more. The design of the space was created in collaboration with the Hudson Valley Additive Manufacturing Center at SUNY New Paltz, as well as input from the local maker community. The Fabrication Center will have separate entrances and exits from the rest of the building, which will enable it to operate prior to the completion of the entire Metro project. It is currently in the final phases of design, and some construction has begun. Geothermal drilling and parking lot repairs have been completed.
